Dr. Ted and Cathy Vlahos

Dr. Ted Vlahos is our founder and company president. Dr. Vlahos received his Bachelor of Science (1983), Master of Science (1985), and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (1988), from the Ohio State University. Dr. Vlahos has performed surgery across the globe and is widely recognized as a leader in the development of amputation procedures and prosthetic limbs for the most severely injured horses. He is board-certified as an equine specialist by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, and served two terms as the Equine Diplomate on the ABVP Council of Regents.

In addition, Dr. Vlahos has served on the American Association of Equine Practitioners Professional Conduct and Ethics Committee and was a founding member and Chair of the ABVP Ethics Committee. Dr. Vlahos is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his beautiful family on their ranch in Cody, Wyoming.

Our Facility

Yellowstone Veterinary Hospital’s Cody, Wyoming location had its grand opening in April 2016. It is a state-of-the-art facility custom built to suit all surgical and primary care needs.

Our surgical center is equipped for all advanced and routine surgeries, including orthopedic, arthroscopic and colic surgery. Connected to our surgery room is a custom padded induction and recovery room, which provides our patients with the safest possible environment.


The Barn

Our facility also includes a large barn area where we perform examinations, radiographs, ultrasounds, and joint injections. It is equipped with a large round pen and heated intensive care stalls for our patients.
